Chat with me, on Friday 5th December at 3.30pm after the final episode of Bear Sanctuary. My live web chat will run from 3.30pm to 4.30pm tomorrow afternoon.
I’ll be taking questions on the sanctuary and bear issues in Romania. You can ask me about the habits and habitats of the sanctuary residents and wild bears found in the Romanian forests. Or maybe you might want to know more about what it was like to film the series, or a particular bear that you’ve seen on the blog or in the Animal Planet series.
If you want to get ahead of the pack, you can post your questions before the web chat starts. Just add a comment to this blog entry and I’ll post them up tomorrow with a reply.
It’s very easy to join the chat, just click on the photo of me to the right hand side of this page (underneath 'Ask Victor') at 3.30pm tomorrow afternoon.
Thanks and see you tomorrow!
Victor

It is quite a long time since I don't know anything about the bear from the Tecuci Zoo. It was absolutely hart-breaking, a big bear in a 3 m cage. I hope you got to him in time and he is alive and well in your sanctuary.

I am new to you and your adventures of saving the bears. It all looks so exciting. I am an all animal lover. Do you sponsor and are involved with santuary's in the US?
Keep up the awesome work

It has been so interesting to watch this programme on the bears in Romania,it really gives us an insight into the work involved in helping these bears, Ive had tears to my eyes at times whilst watching, esp of Max, the blind bear, it must be doubly distressing for him, I hope he is settling in ok now and getting use to his new envioronment! Will there be any further programmes like this one in the future on other successful animal projects, Im very passionate about the welfare of all bears and was wandering whether you would be showing any on your work on those suffering on the bile farms. You truely are an inspirational man, along with your team, I can't tell you how happy I am that there are people like you on this earth fighting for the rights of animals and help ending the suffering and giving them back there freedom and happiness again that they deserve, how people can treat animals so horrendously is absolutly appalling.Thank you and keep up the good work!

I understand that some of the bears are so traumatized when they enter the sanctuary that they cling to the fence or to trees because they do not know the feeling of freedom. How long does it take for the bears to really feel at home in their new surroundings?

Hi
How long do you think it will take you to educate the Romanians about Bears and how long do you estimate for you to have released all the bears in captivity in Romania?
Best Wishes
Debbie

Hi Victor
I have been reading all your updates as I too cannot view the programmes and have really looked forward to getting them every week you and the staff at the sanctuary do amazing work and being able to share a little bit of the work you do has been wonderful.
As you have mentioned there are other bears in Romania that need rescuing so what are your plans for these and how many bears can live in the sanctuary together ?
Kind regards to you and your amazing team.

Hi, unfortunately I don't have Sky, will this come to a terrestrial channel in the UK at some point?

Hi Victor,
Many Congratulations on the wonderful work you do. What are the governments doing about the situation regarding bears or any other animals being used for entertainment purposes. Is there a website where people can sign a petition and send to the Romanian government? I have not watched your programme but will ensure I will if it is shown on any of the major channels. I regularly contribute to the WSPA and love hearing of stories where animals have been rescued and now in a safe and secure place where they can behave in the way nature intended.
Thank-you for all the work you do and I will certainly keep on contributing towards helping free
all animals that are being exploited by humans.
Kind Regards
Kamla xx

I too would like to know how Max is getting on.
Also has there been any plans made regarding the possible rehabilitaion & release of the baby bear back to the wild?
Fantastic work!
It is truly heart warming that just a handful if good people can make such a project happen.

Dear Victor,
There are no words to describe people like you, Cristina or any human being that is fighting to save the animals, you are God's send. I watch the show on Animal Planet, but I would really like to have it on DVD, will it be there for sale?
Thank you for the amazing work, as a Romanian who knows the realities of animals in our country, I cry every night I watch all of you saving our great bears.
Thank you again and please don't stop doing the great work.

Hi Victor
Like Ruth, I too have been unable to watch the programmes and would like to know if there is a DVD that I could buy? I would also buy it for my friends and family members which, as Ruth points out, would be a good idea for raising funds.
I think you're a star by the way!

It was really inspiring to see the work done in the sanctuary. I've only just joined WSPA but wondering if you are going to do any volunteer breaks, where people can work in this or other projects? OK it takes a few resources to organise but we get a rewarding and memorable break and you get a chance to make some money (as we pay for the break) and labour (from eager volunteers) and probably a better long term donation stream as well (as we become more personally involved in the project). A sort of mini VSO.

Hello Victor, thank you for the wonderful achievment for the beautiful bears. I have been unable to watch the programmes as we dont have digital tv. Do you have a dvd to buy of the series? If not perhaps it would be a good idea for funds. Ruth, member

Hi Victor,
After watching the show tonight, the burning question has to be: how is Big Max getting on in his enclosure?
Also, have there been any developments with regard to freeing the other captive bears in Romania?
Keep up the great work.
All the best,
John in Glasgow
